Faculty Member Gülşen Seven Presented Research at an International Conference

Dr. Gülşen Seven, faculty member in TED University’s Department of Political Science and International Relations, and Dr. Mehmet Alper Yalçınkaya, faculty member in the Department of Sociology, presented their joint research at the 16th International Conference on Religion & Spirituality in Society, held on 22–23 June 2026 at Universidad Antonio Ruiz de Montoya in Lima, Peru.
The two researchers presented a paper entitled “Religious Muslims’ Views on Controversial Scientific-Political Issues,” sharing the findings of their research with an international audience of scholars.
Bringing together researchers from around the world, the conference explored the relationships between religion, spirituality, and society from an interdisciplinary perspective. Held under the special theme “Indigenous Spiritualities in Global Perspective,” the event featured discussions on contemporary issues at the intersection of religion, politics, science, ethics, culture, and public life.
The paper presented by Dr. Seven and Dr. Yalçınkaya examines how religious Muslims perceive controversial scientific and political issues, contributing to ongoing discussions on the intersections of religion, science, and politics.
The conference provided an important platform for international scholarly exchange and interdisciplinary dialogue, bringing together academics working on religion and society from diverse disciplinary and geographical backgrounds.
